Back-to-School Shirts for Kids Who Have Opinions

The school supply list said "one pair of scissors, blunt tip." It did not say "one shirt that communicates your child's entire personality to a room of strangers before they've said a word." But that's the one that matters.
Here's the thing about kids and clothes: at a certain age, they develop opinions. Loud ones. The shirt you laid out the night before is now unacceptable for reasons that will never be explained to you. So the winning move isn't picking the shirt they'll tolerate. It's stocking the drawer with shirts they'll actually reach for.
The first-day shirt is a statement, whether you meant it or not
Every kid walks into a new classroom carrying one piece of information about themselves that other kids can read instantly. For some it's the backpack. For most it's the shirt.
You can go the safe route — plain, neutral, forgettable — and that's a fine choice. Or you can send them in wearing something that makes another six-year-old say "I like your shirt," which is, developmentally speaking, how friendships start.

Kids grow between the day you order and the day school starts. It's a law of nature. Everything we print runs the full range — baby onesie through youth — so if you're between sizes, go up. The shirt will fit eventually, and "eventually" arrives faster than you'd like.

Ordering timeline
Everything is printed to order, which takes about 3–7 days before it ships. If school starts in two weeks, you're fine. If school starts Monday, buy something at the store and order the good shirt for week two. We won't be offended.
